Within the marvelous nature of the Roveta forest, between the mineral waters of a source, a villa is harmoniously interlaced with the landscape. Crossing various routes within the Tuscan countryside, it is wrapped within the scents of cypresses, olive trees and the fresh products of the earth: a different life that connects the environment and nature.
History and local products are integrated through the organization of events that find their place within the former Roveta factory, where Italy in the 1950s saw the birth of homonymous drinks. The factory thus comes back to life after a long period of inactivity, becoming an important cultural center.
The regeneration project blends the existing building and preserves the historical stratifications and indicators of past times. The heritage is enhanced through the juxtaposition of new and transparent volumes, which act like telescopes, their large windows open onto the vast unbounded landscape.
The project is connected to the landscape where pure forms and traditional materials blend to give the building a new and contemporary image. The new intervention is inspired by the concept of the traditional villa, where hospitality and reception spaces are connected by means of a covered external path with a restaurant and relaxation areas.
Interior spaces of the existing building are redesigned and rationalized, integrating the new volumes, and optimizing the spaces necessary related to tourism requirements. The gardens of the Villa are completely revised with the addition of terracing, water features and a large selection of typical Mediterranean species and shrubbery. In addition to the experience of the Villa, guests can take advantage of the rooms located along the Roveta forest, small wooden cabins from which they can experience nature directly.
